Cultural-tourism consecutive interpreting (CTCI) demands bilingual or multilingual proficiency, cross-cultural competence, and a repertoire of interpreting skills encompassing listening, analysis, memory retention, note-taking/reading, and reproduction. While previous studies primarily focus on macro-level interpreting principles such as anticipation, approximation, monitoring, and restructuring, research on CTCI strategies, especially those addressing different stages of interpreting, is limited. This study employs Daniel Gile’s Effort Models to scrutinize cognitive processes in interpreters, examining consecutive interpreting strategies utilized during a real-world cultural tourism event, “Cultural China Splendid Sichuan”. Challenges from different stages of interpreting, comprehension, memory retention, note-taking/re
