Isothermal crystallization of polypropylene/surface modified silica nanocomposites

In the present work, 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxy-silane silanized silica(SiO_2-WD70) and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide immobilized silica(SiO_2-WD70-DOPO) nanoparticles were prepared. Silica, SiO_2-WD70 and SiO_2-WD70-DOPO were incorporated into polypropylene(PP) by melt compounding. Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and polarized optical microscopy(POM) were employed to investigate the isothermal crystallization behavior of PP and PP/silica composites. The kinetic constant(kn), and half crystallization time(t1/2) were calculated by Avrami equation,while the surface free energy of folding was calculated by Lauritzen-Hoffman theory. The increased kn, decreased t1/2 and the surface free energy(σe) in the order of PP, PP/SiO_2, PP/SiO_2-WD70 and PP/SiO_2-WD70-DOPO nanocomposites were attributed to the surface modification of silica. XRD indicated that SiO_2-WD70-DOPO addition had no effect on PP crystal structure but accelerated the crystallization rate. POM determined that SiO_2-WD70-DOPO addition promoted the nucleation of PP by inducing a higher nucleation density during isothermal conditions. The surface modified nanoparticle SiO_2-WD70-DOPO might find possible application as a new type of inorganic nano-sized nucleation agent for PP.

UV Photodegradation of Polypropylene Thick Bars Containing Rutile-type TiO_2 Nanorods被引量:1

Surface modified rutile-type titanium dioxide(CST) nanorods were used as a UV absorber in polypropylene(PP) thick bars in combination with the hindered amine light stabilizer(HALS) Chimassorb? 944(C944). For all of the tested samples, the photodegradation was mainly limited in the region near the exposed surface, as proved by the carbonyl index and molecular weight. Compared with the typical HALS photostabilization system containing organic hindered phenol UV absorber Tinuvin? 328(T328), the thickness of photodegradation region for PP/C944/CST was only a quarter to that for PP/C944 and PP/C944/T328, while the rates of reduction in molecular weight and increase in carbonyl index were much lower. Optical microscopic observation showed that the evolution of surface micro-cracks in PP/C944/CST was quite different from that in the other samples, while scanning electronic micrographs revealed that the depth of the micro-cracks in PP/C944/CST was much shorter than that in the others. It is therefore concluded that the protection of CST on PP thick bars is mainly attributed to the outstanding UV-shielding and cracks-blocking abilities.

月桂酸镧基蒙脱土的制备及其对聚氯乙烯热稳定性的影响被引量:4

利用层状硅酸盐改善聚氯乙烯的热稳定性已成为一种经济有效的新途径。本文以钠基蒙脱土(Na-MMT)、月桂酸钠(SDD)和氯化镧为原料,通过沉淀吸附法制备了月桂酸镧基蒙脱土(La-OMMT)。红外光谱和X线衍射分析表明,长链有机酸进入蒙脱土层间并使层间距增大至3.36 nm;将La-OMMT加入PVC树脂制备纳米复合材料,热重分析表明,La-OMMT对PVC有显著的热稳定作用,当添加量为3%(wt)时,PVC的起始分解温度提高至32.42℃;刚果红实验发现,随着蒙脱土中镧含量的增加,PVC的热稳定时间延长,当添加量为5%(wt)时,热稳定时间达到46.99 min,较纯PVC提高了15倍以上,明显优于目前商用的季铵盐类有机化蒙脱土。这表明:本研究制得的月桂酸镧基蒙脱土在PVC的加工应用中具有更优越的适用性。

SBS/PBMA IPNs纳米乳胶粒的制备

聚合物互穿网络以其特殊的结构和优异的特性,受到广泛的关注。本文通过乳液聚合制备了聚合物互穿网络(IPNs)SBS/PBMA,实验从动力学角度出发,考察了乳化剂十二烷基苯磺酸钠(SDBS)、引发剂过硫酸钾(KPS)、交联剂乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯(EGDMA)等用量对聚合乳液固含量和单体转化率的影响,并通过激光粒度仪(LPA)、透射电镜(TEM)、差示扫描量热仪(DSC)和傅里叶红外光谱(FT-IR)对聚合物的形态和结构进行了分析。实验研究结果表明,当乳化剂、引发剂和交联剂的用量分别为1.5%、0.5%和15%时,可制得粒径约为68 nm的球形纳米乳胶粒,且粒径分布较窄。制备的这种纳米乳胶粒性能优异,可主要用于改善PVC的拉伸强度、抗冲击强度差等缺点,起到增强增韧的作用。

PVC结构与静态热稳定性关系研究被引量:7

研究了聚氯乙烯(PVC)结构与静态热稳定性能之间的关系。通过凝胶渗透色谱仪、核磁共振谱仪、红外吸收光谱仪等测试分析手段表征了PVC的结构;采用烘箱法、刚果红测试法、热重分析法等测试研究了PVC静态热稳定性能。结果表明,PVC的相对分子质量越小、烯丙基氯及其间规结构含量越多,则其静态热稳定性能越差,相反则热稳定性能越好。不同测试手段所得PVC的静态热稳定性是一致的。

SBS/PBMA在HPVC加工密封条中应用的研究被引量:1

为提高HPVC加工和力学性能,使HPVC更好地应用于车用密封条当中,本文采用转矩流变仪进行研究,探索了不同聚合度、增塑剂加入量、丁苯橡胶/聚甲基丙烯酸丁酯聚合物互穿网络(SBS/PBMA)加入量等对高聚合度聚氯乙烯(HPVC)加工流变性能的影响;采用压制成型工艺,将聚合物互穿网络运用到HPVC加工密封条中,通过硬度测试、拉伸实验和热老化实验等进行了实验分析。结果表明:当增塑剂邻苯二甲酸二辛酯加入量为80份、填充剂碳酸钙加入量为5份、SBS/PBMA加入量为2份时,所得的材料能够满足车用密封条行业标准。

聚甲基丙烯酸丁酯纳米粒子乳液的制备工艺被引量:7

聚甲基丙烯酸丁酯具有优良的性能,在诸多领域展现出广阔的应用前景。本文以二甲基丙烯酸乙二醇酯(EGDMA)为交联剂,采用乳液聚合法制备了聚甲基丙烯酸丁酯纳米粒子,探索了交联剂EGDMA、引发剂过硫酸钾(KPS)和乳化剂十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)等对纳米粒子的粒径、乳液固含量、单体转化率的影响规律。实验结果表明,EGDMA、KPS、SDS加入量分别为10%(单体摩尔分数)、0.4%(单体摩尔分数)和0.4%(质量分数)时,制备得到的乳液单体转化率达95%,乳液凝聚率低,得到的聚合物粒径达到45nm。
