Vocabulary is widely perceived as being the most difficult element in English learning.Therefore,researchers,teachers and learners have been trying to find out how to successfully enlarge the learners' vocabulary.However,there is as yet no ideal model of English vocabulary teaching and learning.In this paper,the author hopes to make a contribution to English vocabulary teaching and learning.The paper starts with a discussion of Nation's strategies on vocabulary learning.Then, it presents a tentative model of English vocabulary teaching.
