In this work, the extraction behavior of TBMA employing benzene as a diluents for Yb(Ⅲ)was investigated. The effect of the concentrations of nitric acid, lithium nitrate and extractant and also the temperature on the extraction distribution ratio was studied. The complexe of TBMA with Yb(Ⅲ) was characterized by IR.The stoichiometries of extracted species was established to be Yb(NO3)3·3TBMA,and the enthalpy of the extraction was found to be -29.46 kJ·mol-1.
Study on the extraction and separation of rare earth with new extractants is important in the rare earth chemistry and hydrometallurgy. In this work, the extraction behavior of TBMA employing n hexane 20% n octanol, benzene and toluene as diluents toward Tb(Ⅲ) has been investigated. The effect of the concentrations of nitric acid, lithium nitrate and extractant and also the temperature on the extraction distribution ratio has been studied in different diluents. The stoichiometry of the extracted species of Tb(Ⅲ) conforms to be Tb(NO 3) 3·3TBMA.An attempt has been made to determine the structure of the extracted species based on the data of IR and mole
The behavior of N,N,N′,N′-tetrabutylmalonamide(TBMA) in extraction of Tm(Ⅲ) using toluene as diluent has been investigated. The effects of the concentrations of TBMA, nitric acid, lithium nitrate, and temperature on the extraction have been studied. The composition of the extracted species was found to be Tm(NO3)3·3TBMA as characterized by IR spectrometry. The apparent equilibrium constant of extraction has been determined to be (0.61±0.18) L^6/mol^-6 at 298 K. Enthalpy of the extraction reaction is -27.61 kJ/mol.
