We all enjoy being together with friends,which,of course,is one of the reasons why the sitcom Friends has been so popular.However,no matter how close the friendship is,conflicts cannot be avoided.Thus knowing the format of conflict talk is good for friends to find out the best way to abstain from speech conflicts.Taking several quarreling situations in the sitcom Friends as examples,this paper analyzes the format of conflict talk between friends from the perspective of Politeness Theory.
迄今,有关逻辑结果关系及程式语的研究成果丰硕。但将二者结合起来,并探讨其承载的语义韵较少受到学者关注。鉴此,本研究提出"逻辑结果程式语"概念,并通过大量数据统计分析,力图找出英语语言中常用的逻辑结果程式语以及它们所携带的语义韵。研究发现:符合研究条件的13个英语逻辑结果程式语,按其呈现的语义韵,分为三类:as a result of,caused by和[lead]①to,大多数情况下表达消极语义韵的趋向显著;so that,now that,as a result,[re-sult]from和thanks to表示中性语义韵的趋向明显;so...that,[bring]about,because of,[result]in和due to表现糅杂型语义韵的趋向突显。
